April 28, 2014

Things are going great here in Tsukuba! We are having a baptism on Saturday for J***! He is nine and his dad is inactive and his mom was recently baptized. He is so cute and so ready! It was kind of dramatic because we finished all the lessons and he has been ready for a few weeks but the bishopric wanted his dad to baptize him. No one was really doing anyone about finding out about his dad doing it so we took some action. We talked to his mom and she said her husband has been drinking and smoking so he won't be able to do it. We just set a date with him and tried to consult with the bishop but he wasn't ever responding so we had to just make it happen. Finally, yesterday at church we were able to talk to the bishop and he met with J*** and visited his dad last night to get permission and it's all gonna work out! He's getting baptized on Saturday woohoo! We also just started teaching our friend M***. She's from China. She is awesome and already believes it all. The Chinese are SO prepared! Pray J***'s baptism goes through and M*** starts progressing!

Love you all! Have a good week!

I'm sorry I don't like writing so my emails are lame but here is what's up in Tsukuba:

Easter wasn't even celebrated here. Legit no one said anything at church about it being Easter. I got a new companion. Sister Day my new companion is awesome! We are having a lot of fun and getting lots done in Tsukuba! She's from Georgia. Our investigators are slowing moving along and hopefully we can see baptisms soon! I love my mission! I'm so happy to be here! I love you all! Thanks for being the best!

We got transfer calls! Sadly Sister Kelley is leaving... But I'm staying in Tsukuba! I'm getting a new companion- Day Shimai. I've seen her before but I've never really met her. I'm glad to stay in Tsukuba but I'm gonna miss Kelley Shimai! We have lots of potentials and we are so close to a baptism! J***. He's 9. Please pray for his dad to become active again! Here are some pictures! Have
a good week! Love you all!

Hello Mina San!
I am in Tsukuba and it's awesome! There's a huge university and lots of scientists. Kinda random. It's a pretty new city so not a lot of older people live here. Which means there are a lot more open people. It's awesome. Right now we have 1 baptismal date. J**. He's a nine year old Philippino. His dad is inactive and his mom is a recent convert. He is supposed to get baptized on April 6 so pray that goes through! We still need to confirm everything with the bishop and stuff. But he's so cute and so ready. He has so much faith. Then there's A***. She lived in Germany for a year or so and she talks about how it opened her eyes to see more than just the Japanese traditions and things. She also always says it's not a coincidence we met and that she lives here at this time. She is way in tune to the spirit. It's way cool. We're working with her but it's going a little slow for now. She has two little girls. Way cute family who all speak English perfect. Then there's the K** family. The mom meets us for English class but we also teach gospel too and she's slowly coming around. Last night she said she won't become Christian but she still wants us to teach her. She was way into the lesson. They just need some time. Then we have four Indian investigators. They are pretty cool and I'm now set on traveling to India. Yoga in India. (K*** mom is teaching us yoga next week. #holler) but we are finding and teaching and seeing miracles and it's way awesome to see! I love being a missionary! It's an amazing experience!

I love you all and I'm thankful for your prayers and support!

Love, デイビス姉妹

So my new comp is from Washington and her name is Kelley Shimai. She is way cool and sweet. She is on transfer 5 and I am on 8.  So the area is nice. It's pretty new and big and there are lots of people out and about. There's a huge university and everything is really pretty. There's also a huuuuge mall and I'm definitely going shopping after this. And I'm also getting a haircut for the first time since I left on my mission. Oops. We have a few investigators and it's been way fun teaching them. There is one family the K***. They are so cool. They travel to India and Thailand to do yoga and see the world and I want to be them. Ha the dad has long hair and he's kinda a hippie but we taught them the restoration yesterday and they were way into it. I love Tsukuba! Things are good! Here's some pictures!
